The New PD 1851.

Most of you may have already seen this speaker on Speaker Plans, but for those who haven't, here it is. (usual rubbish prone photo.)

Has been pubblished the full T/S parameters?

I still haven't loaded any yet. The cabs are in line waiting to be painted. But, It's definately got to be a better all round speaker. with improvements all round. Otherwise, why make it. To me they have made improvements to an existing speaker. It is not a completely brand new speaker. The frame is the same, the voice coil is the same dia. etc. Extra cooling has been added, which obviously helps towards additional power handling. It's also more expensive. PD will probably sell all they can make.

any body heard any other rumours about the new 1851???

Heard quite a few people are selling PD1850s to get the new "51".

I think the new speaker will be better and more versatile then the old one. My next move is to get the 1851 tested against the B and C 18SW115. I'll probably do it in the mini scoops.

opinions may be thin on the ground at the moment, because it will take a time before they are around in big numbers. The Kayak guys have them and of course used them in Carnival, they would have good info by now.
