Hi, 
i'm interrested to built some cubo subs.
The question is, can i use a RCF 18G401 in these boxes?

Yes you can, I would use an amplifier of 700 - 1200 W and a 30 Hz high pass, also a great Cubo 18 Extended driver.

Here in South Africa the best drivers I can easily get hold off seem to be 21SW1800-8 and 18SW1500-8. I am think of getting the 21s as for a sub bigger is better, right?

The 21" will sound the loudest (+1.5 dB above 50 Hz), whilst the 18" will have 1 dB more output between 35 - 45 Hz. So without EQ the 18" will sound a bit deeper but with EQ the 21" has more potential.

Cubo Sub is typically matched with Cubo Kick 15 because it goes down to 80 Hz, it also has the same width, so it stacks nicely. Cubo Kick 12 reaches a bit higher,, in exchange for less lower kick, which is nice if your mid/ high tops don't do anything under 200 - 250 Hz.
