Yes you can, I would use an amplifier of 700 - 1200 W and a 30 Hz high pass, also a great Cubo 18 Extended driver.

Cubo

Here in South Africa the best drivers I can easily get hold off seem to be 21SW1800-8 and 18SW1500-8. I am think of getting the 21s as for a sub bigger is better, right?

The 21" will sound the loudest (+1.5 dB above 50 Hz), whilst the 18" will have 1 dB more output between 35 - 45 Hz. So without EQ the 18" will sound a bit deeper but with EQ the 21" has more potential.

Cubo Sub is typically matched with Cubo Kick 15 because it goes down to 80 Hz, it also has the same width, so it stacks nicely. Cubo Kick 12 reaches a bit higher,, in exchange for less lower kick, which is nice if your mid/ high tops don't do anything under 200 - 250 Hz.

Hi everybody, i'd like to build a cubo sub with the best "bang for bucks" woofer from either RCF or B&C. I've read many good things about the rcf x401 but are there any other driver with a as good response but wtith less watt requirement or even cheaper than the x401? Thanks!!
I've simulated on hornresp the x401 and its seem very promising.
i've uploaded the sim with the x401.

There are cheaper, suitable drivers from B&C and RCF around the same efficiency (roughly 2.2% or higher). The RCF LF18X401 does have a higher electrical/ mechanical powerhandling, so it's definitely a good choice. If maximum SPL is less of a concern, you could look into some of the 1000 - 1200 W AES drivers.

Hi Mr.Cubo, thanks a lot for the response!
We thought the X401 was the comprise for a woofer around 350euro, do you know any better options around this budget of the RCF or B&C? (I have a decent discount on this two brands)

And if I may ask, building the cubo sub with an 18" driver means that I'll have to modify the structure of the box or I can just put the woofer and follow the measurements of the original drawings?

thanks again !

The 18DS115 is the goat at the moment, so if your discount brings that in range that would be a no-brainer. Inbetween the LF18X401 and the 18DS115, you'll find the LF18N405 and the 18DS100 (I would favor the B&C at similar price point there).
If the 18DS100 is out of your price range the LF18X401 is your best choice as far as I can see.
