Would EQing the bottom end be allowed?

If i modified my design into a double iit could roughly be61cm x 122 x90 (24x 48x 35.5in) which is within sizetolerance.

with a quick modeling sesh i can get 105db(+/-1dB)@1w/1m from 50hz to 150Hz. Driver excursion is under 1mm @ 32Hz evenwith 1500w going through the driversso that can be EQ'd up a fair bit.



This is just a quick go, and i am using a rather weedy driver, maybe use a better driver and we could get it looking better....Edited by: Jake_Fielder

Ideally, it would be flat from the start, but EQing would be fine I guess.

Could you post your hornresp inputs? I'm currently doing 'the mystery of the mini scoop' all over again, but would like to give a sim a try.

Try looking at a driver with a higher Qts and a lower BL, I think it wont choke the low end off quite as much as that one appears to be doing. Is this a 15"? Try Eminence 3015LF

Jake's is a dual 18, but I'm concentrating on a dual 15. Thanks for the suggestion - the 3015 do seem to be quite a decent driver in more than a few cabs from what I've seen. I'll also be simming a large variety of other drivers...

its an 18", does that change what you have advised?

Its the only think i have inputted into hornresp so far except v18-1000.

Whyare you more interested in dual15" deadbeat?

But before you say anything, I'm already going for a few enclosures with your parameters, and I think I'm going to get a winner of a driver soon hopefully...

Jake, try similar drivers to the 186 and FTR18-4080FD.

because with 2 drivers in parrallel (4r)1 watt is @ 2v.

To sim this as a double cab I have gone into the [tools] bit then clicked [multiple drivers] then said that theres 2 in parrallel. Also i doubled all the bits like throat, mouth, port diam, rear/front chamber.

I'm getting a similar response with the PD 186, only with a large hump in the middle instead of a dip.
