105db + 12 or 15 inch kick horn was created by thepersonunknown
hello all
im looking around for a possible bass section for some 3 way cabs. the mids and highs will run of some 10 and 2 inch horns ive picked up recently and they both run at about 110 db (sensitivity), which means that if a single low horn is to have any chance of keeping up it will need to have at least 600w power and 105 db sensitivity so as to break that 130db mark, along with the rest of the sections. as it will be part of a larger cab it will need to be compact. the best contender i am aware of is the hd15, and i am doing by best to design my own but im a newb to horn design and so many sections drives me mad. does anyone have any suggestions? it would need to run between 180ish hz and down to at least 80hz. as i will be running it over taperes horns the low extension is not so important but obvioulsy the lower the better. also im looking for great clarity as well as transient responce, which kinda puts me off the hds as ive herd they are quite 'warm' sounding.
all help much apreciated.
