depends on your taste, in the range 70hz 200hz a lot of design can work good.

I guess it's got to be a folded horn of some description for sheer impact.

with a few changes in the plan, the old fane kick bin, kicks hard.......... smiley2 very hard........ i got 2 double 1550 loaded re worked ones in the workshop...... smiley20 make the rear chamber smaller, add double driver cut out panel one round one round but with a straight panel to aid keeping the driver firing level, reduce width a bit and hay presto a kick bin that is hard to beat....... On full power standing next to it makes your eyes roll and has a feeling like being sea sick... but sounds great..... add two cabs and people stand and smile at it...... Its not as warm sounding as the bs500 / 1200 but moves air like ive never felt from other cabs. It has a very hard kick great for dance type music. Once the design has been tweaked a bit more ill post pics etc...... this is just one of 3 kick designs ive been working on over the last few months, the other is a forward firing version similar to the es18. and another design im keeping to myself for a bit, but once all the testing is over ill be happy to share......

my ears to start with....... one was designed with akabak the other was a logical development of an old idea..... im going to a/b both designs then see what the plotts say using smaart........ the key area will be 90hz to 250hz but they will play lower around 50hz at a guess....
