Any view to having a beta test up north wales?
Would like to hear one of these new amps,

On that note... anyone able to do a side by side comparison of one of the new amps and old xp amps. Be interesting to see if there is any difference in performance, if any.

uhhm, that sounds pretty much like the normal & 'correct' setup of amplifiers with regards to bandwidth limiting which has been around for sometime, a specific spec along these lines is required by law for RFI reasons & in general its been implemented in all good amp designs since day 0. asymmetrical centering, welll, that sounds pretty much like the expected side effect of the 35hz high pass..
they seem to be just repackaging a standard feature & attempting to sell it as an innovation ;)

(but i might be wrong)

if it doesn\'t hurt & shake your eyeballs out of their sockets, its not bass...

Well the low pass under 50khz might actually be something special, because ive heard from many a place that class d switchmode and digital amplifiers and the like have problems with emitting whackloads of HF noise, and in more than a few amps, this isnt really adressed, and could be a problem if you're not already lowpassing it to run sub or mid. i could pull out some old Hi-fi articles and whatnot if you guys would like.

another interesting factoid, if you run an amp with lots of ultrasonic output through a piezo, youll make ultrasonic feedback between the tweeter and the amp and the amp will fry! neato!

I reckon....!!!!

No doubt piano pieces are asymmetrical in nature and are not centered , but audio equipment also contains capacitors in audio coupling path, which inherently preserves the symmetry. If an asymmetrical waveform is averaged by servo network, the net DC component will be ZERO and this feature is found in many amplifiers like Crest , even in QSC the input stage does the error correction. Crown is just using a "Technically Fashionable Jargon" to wow the laymen who are not familiar with it. Regarding subsonic filters , its a standard feature in almost all the amplifiers today we have in the market. Again in regard to ultrasonic frequencies there is a catch, either the output stage is not happy with it or the story is something else, because tweeters wont fry at 50khz, since they have finite amount of inductance also which wont turn to zero and as the frequency will increase the finite inductance of voil coil will also pose reactance and restrict the flow of ac current at such frequencies thereby limiting the dissipation naturally. To Fry tweeters better pass low frequency signal of 100Hz. smiley36

You could mount it backwards and then use a pully/lever system to adjust the controls from the front. And a mirror so you can see the LEDs...?
