Ground lift

Why do some mfrs not include this? Is there a technical reason or just cost?

Cost, To be honest it is a facility that I have never had to use not even on my DI boxes where you think it would be far more advantageous.

The use of good balanced circuit topologies and decent cables etc. usually renders this feature redundant .

In my lockup there is always trouble. Groound lift sorts it. Wasn't available on my STR's. Away from the lock-up all is usually fine.

Nick all my amps are permanently ground lifted,
This function is much better than fitting a ground lift switch,it also means that if a ground hum happens with one or more of my amplifiers,It will be the signal source.
when i removed the ground lift switch 15 years ago,phone calls about hums stopped.

how many do you have now

I dont, none, zilch.
I had
3 x STR1200
1 x UKP1600 (2k with 1600ps)
3 x UKP1300
1x STR2000
1x 3000
and some little ones.
Not all at the same time but over a couple of years.
To be completly honest I bailed out and sold the lot when you went to Void. Nothing personal.
Now I look around and see the S/H values of them have gone up lots.

My current lot:

Audiohead AH900 New boxed Ebay bargain, £125 ish
Crown XLS 602 (current model) New, broken mains switch smiley4 £50
Crown 602 (C Audio GB type) Bought one side down for £30, repair was £35
Phonic MAR 6 (very cheap from Chunky DJ, less than 50 quid)
PEC A900 (Conquest jobby) had a while, repaired by Abra's John, runs lovely.
Hill DX1500 had a while and it's sort of family now. Had caps mod.
KAM KXR 300
And finally a C Audio ST1000 one side down for the lock-up stereo.

A right load of old mish mash.
