yes you're right, it doesn't make much difference in this design

also your volume, I drew this up in Autocad, and the internal volume of the rear chamber should be nearly spot on

@JJD, have you reduced for the volume of the driver has taken up?

with a standard 18'' ferrite magnet I normally use 11 litres, say 9 for a neo

the internal cone volume of a 18'' driver is roughly between 4-4.5 litres

the rectangular throat area is 22.2 x 36 x 1.8 = 1.43 litre

baffle hole/excursion plate is 42.2 dia 21.2 x 21.2 x 3.142 = 141 x 1.8 = 2.53
cone volume, 4/4.5 litres

4.5 + 2.53 + 1.43 = 8.46 litres for throat chamber volume

very little in the graph anyway between the two

I have updated the Full Size Plan with the latest revision of the design.

Sensitivity: 105 dB 1w/1m (half space 2pi)

Also check hornplans.free.fr/mhb46.html for some build pics and a lot of other designs.

Yes I have reduced volume of the driver. RCF say 5.5 liters for front mounting on 18mm thick board: www.rcf.it/fr_FR/c/document_libr ... E-2219.pdf

The 22.2x36 area is not throat chamber, it is the start of the horn.

nice to see a plan only for italian driver
however... JJD the rcf value for the cone don't fit in this case you have to add the baffle cutout volume. However don't change so much.

as it has been said in the post, I think the start of the horn is in front of the speaker, so the model will be like this:
