On which side is the access panel in this case, in case the driver gets fried and has to be taken out?

you would load the driver in sideways from eather side...... so the acces panel can be put on the left or right side.......

Does the V shape touches on the panel where the speaker is mounted? Or has a small clearance? I was wondering cause it might create some noise during bass vibrations.

most w-bins load from the back, but look at the plans..... the driver sits on the inside of the rear chamber. You may be able to change the plan and load driver from the back.......
On second thoughts you cant change the plan as the v bit would then be wrong.....

the v bit sits level with the driver panal this would leave an 18mm gap to driver. 18mm being the thickness of the ply wood.
