You need the T/S Parameters from the driver to find the ideal box volume and whether it should be vented or sealed. WinIsd would help you greatly. No worries on rookiedom.

Yeah I can't find anything on the internet for that driver. Not even sure if it is a subwoofer so it would be hard to guess what kind of box to make. Personally I would say that if you want to experiment with it as a learning experience, I would make a sealed box. Much easier to construct than a vented box, for a first build.

I have a car sub 10 inch recommended for a sealed box with external dimensions of 438mm x 279mm x 229mm using 19mm MDF, and having an F3 of 48 hz (which is not extremely low but still improves the car sound). So internal dimensions would be 400 x 241 x 191. The internal dimensions would be the same if you use 25mm wood. Might work, might not. Will certainly make noise, just a gamble as to the quality. Impossible to tell without the speaker parameters.

Good luck.

Also, here is an online site for calculating sealed boxes based on the parameters I was talking about, but it won't do you any good without choosing another driver with better product infos. www.mh-audio.nl/ClosedBoxCalculator.asp

There are other calculators on there too for vented boxes and horns which I have found useful. Serious design programs for speakers unfortunately requires a non-mac computer. WinIsd and Hornresp are the two that I use.

Thanks so much for your help I'll give your dimensions a closer look and yeah see if I could get my hands on a better driver... But at least it's a place to start.
Cheers.
