building small sealed sub was created by Geo1700
Whats up guys. about to start my first ever speaker build, and its a small sealed 12" subwoofer using an 'Eminence Lab 12' driver and 300wrms plate amp.
Im using MDF and was wondering what the best way to fasten the wood together would be. Ive never done woodwork before so im finding it hard to make decisions. I could do with some tips on mounting the driver too; i cant really make it flush with the front panel because of limited tools, does it matter too much if its just screwed onto the outside of the MDF? Screw/ adhesive suggestions / any tips will be greatly appreciated THANKS!

If you use MDF, pre-drill & countersink all screw holes. For joining 3/4" material, use 1-1/2" x #8 screws. Best to use a screw that doesn't have it's threads running all the way to the head. You may also want to use an adhesive like PL - it's very strong & will seal any tiny gaps as it cures. Good luck.
