I've only compared the HD15 directly to Cubo Kick 12 not Cubo Kick 15 (which is the bigger brother when it comes to kicking). The result was kinda negative for the HD15, loaded with the 15ND930. So I like to reload the HD15 with the original intended driver and re-measure it before releasing the measurements.

Hi Cubo I have the Cubo 15 Kick will start cutting BB as soon as i get the price for CNC work. But I am curious if you will put out a Cubo Kick 212 same setup as the kick 15 but 2 X 12" on one baffle. Maybe this will go higher to 80- 300Hz? Thanks!

The idea at the moment is to put out 3 Cubo Kick models. One for 15" drivers (62 x 62 x 62 cm), 80 - 200 Hz,. Then the same cabinet at 45 cm wide, which will work with both 12" and 15" drivers (though more aimed at 12" drivers) and does 90 - 220 Hz, so the use of 12" single or double will gain about 20 - max 30 Hz in the top end. Cubo Kick 12 does 110 - 250 Hz.
Other then that, when I've time I will look into converting each Cubo Kick to a trap model. I think it's an good idea to see what trap angle is most populair, although 11.25 degrees per side (makes 22.5 degrees/ 45 degrees/ etc.) would be my personal favourite, tho open for suggestions.
80 - 300 Hz sounds like a Xtro to me
Best regards

Hi Cubo,
That Cubo Kick in Trap version sounds interesting.
But for me, i like the identical specs of Cubo 15/18 and Kick.

I have the Kick 15 plans and planning on building 2 cabs along with my now being built 2 Cubo 18 Extended. I would love to build a double 12" Cubo Kick like Xtro angled down in trap 90-300 Hz so I can build my tops 10" horn with 1" horn for full range 4 way system.
Last edit: 10 years 2 days ago by pingpong. Reason: adding explanation for double 12'

@T.geessounds: With a belt sander it will only take a few minutes to sand down the front corners till it's 24" wide.
@Pingpong: Are you sure you need it all the way up to 300 Hz? A 10" horn could easily begin lower then 300 Hz unless it's a very short one. For example the Xtro utilises an 8" horn from 300 Hz and up. The MT102 (Rog/ speakerplans) starts at 180 Hz.
On the other hand, the cut off frequencies given by me, are based on a worst case scenario, that's why we could use a consensus, perhaps 300 Hz isn't a problem at all.
Best regards

Hi Cubo the 10" F/G horn is designed around Faital 10PR300 and the designer says it is designed to sound great at 275 Hz crossover point. Can the Cubo Kick 15 with a Faital Pro 15FH500 go that high? The horn is kinda a small and phase plug looks like a Martin Audio off shoot. He says if i was going to use his horn minimum is 250 Hz crossover as any lower it would not sound as good.
So that is why I am looking at a maybe 2 x 12" Cubo Kick cab so I can put this midtop horn on top of the Kick 212 section, thanks!

Cubo Kick 12 would be your safest bet for 275 Hz, definately 250 Hz.. Cubo Kick 15, at 45 cm wide and loaded with a 12", I would dare betting it get's to 250 Hz, but I'm not stuck with the cabinet if it turns out otherwise. Better safe then sorry.

Cubo is there plans for the Cubo Kick 12" and which Faital Pro 12" can i use or even 18Sound? Is it possible to make the Cubo 15 Kick higher cab to accommodate 2X12' woofers? I like the Cubo 18" width because the Cubo 15 Kick can be stacked about the 18 Cubo. Thanks!
