So, I've had a few afternoons free and finally got hold of all of the drivers for my new hi-fi speakers. Conveniently I live pretty much next door to Wickes, so I wandered round and picked up a sheet of 18mm MDF, roughly cut into cab-sized pieces and set to work.

I built one yesterday and was running it in my workshop but when I heard that the other half was going to be going out tonight, I quickly built it's pair so I could test them tonight in the lounge!

And the result is, with their processing and amplification pile....

I can't say much other than I am very, very happy. Still need a lot of finishing and tweeking but the initial results are very promising indeed. Ultimately they will run from my own amplifier modules, two per cab. The cab is sealed below the mid-high section with plenty of room behind them for the amplification.

3" soft dome midrange and the ribbon tweeter are both made by Tangband. Chinese but definitely not budget components.

I'm sure you recognise it's a Volt 10" Tony.
