Hi,
I just thought I'd say hello and see who might be interested in offering a few words of guidance regarding an upcoming project of mine...
I've had a special request from a bass guitarist who's currently running a 4 Ohm solid-state amp through a single 8 Ohm Sunn 412L (a 4 x 12 guitar cab that, wierdly, also works well for the bass). To address the impedance mismatch (and to drown out the rest of his band) he's wants a new - additional - enclosure to house either one 18" or two 15" drivers (another parallel 8 Ohm load to make an overall load of 4 Ohms for the amp)...so far, so good. The thing is , the cabinet needs to be either triangular or pyramidal!!! Oh, did I mention that this will be the first time that I've ever made a speaker enclosure?
Suggestions, anyone? I have a feeling that the only advice I'll get is to change my prescription medication smiley1
