I've been advised by some people that i should buy the Kappa Pro 15LF-2, since it's supposed to be the best speaker for the Cubo 15. They say it's superior in every way in comparison to the Kappa 15LF driver

See post 24179 ;)

But does that also count for sensitivity?

As long as sensitivity is in the same ball park, it's far less important than other parameters.

Or is the Kappa Pro 15LF-2 better?

The Fane 15-600LF is the equivalent of the Eminence Kappa 15LF.

Is this for a 12V system or regular voltage?

Best regards Cubo

This is a 12V system that is supposed to be used on the Roskilde Festival in Denmark.

But it looks like i'll go with the Kappa pro 15LF-2 ;) But i did also find this driver from Beyma - www.einklang-audio.com/treiber/beyma/15g400.pdf - which i think looks very interesting. I know it's an old model and it isn't produced anymore, however if i by any chance could get a pair of these, wouldn't that be even better than the Kappa Pro 15LF-2? :)
Some of the most important specs:
Fs: 35
Qts: 0.27
Vas: 175
EBP: 123
Xmax: 7
dB: 99

EDIT: If you have the time, will you send both the extended and standard version to me? :) sebastian.sidelmann@gmail.com

The 15g400 is just like the Kappa Pro 15LF in many regards, so it's not really an upgrade. It does have a 4" VC but I don't think it will matter much in this case, so I would still advise the Kappa Pro 15LF. Alternatively you could name your budget and I could see if that allows for a substantial upgrade or not.

I could send you the plans but if you go to the navigation bar at the top of this site (Plans - Cubo 15) will give you exactly the same, as I would send.

Best regards Cubo

I had budget at around 300-350 USD. However, i bought the Beyma because i thought it had better specs in comparison to Kappa 15LFA. I got the two Beymas for 249 USD, so i chose them instead :)

Thanks for your help!

For that price you wouldn't have found anything better, the 15g400 is a good step up from the Kappa 15LF and comparable to the Kappa Pro 15LF.

I hope you´re fine

Still not a playboy-millionaire... so that could be better, other than that I'm doing pretty well at the moment.

will Dayton Audio PA380-8 work in CUBO 15?

I don't think you will find anything new, that's better at that price and suitable for Cubo 15 Extended, to be honest. It's not a Kappa Pro 15LF but at that price difference that wouldn't be a fair comparison, sensitivity will be similar though.

Best regards Cubo

Hey again Mr Cubo

I forgot to ask, but is the Beyma 15G400 best suited with the extended or standard version?

Best regards

Hi cubo, I already have 6 pieces of cubo 15 with b & c 15pl40 drivers would like to build another 6 pieces, which I would equip with b & c 15Ps 100. extended or standard version?
And another question. can we play cubo 15 as kick (125hz-250hz)?

The B&C 15PS100 works best in Cubo 15 Extended.

Cubo 15 is not suited as kick bin, however Cubo Kick 15 is and it will work with the drivers you've got. It's also the exact same size as a Cubo 15, so it will stack nicely: freespeakerplans.com/kunena/7-general-forum/20750-cubo-kick-15
